Final Course Project

The absolutely best part of this course is Open House on the last Friday.

During this three week course students have learned about, experienced, and shared simple machines and gadgets. They have learned about the imaginative and whacky ideas that Rube Goldberg concocted. Put this all together with talented and creative students and you have fertile ground for some very interesting projects.

Here is some advice for successfully accomplishing this task:

* Plan ahead!
* Be creative
(Have a "theme," make it humorous, use items you have around the house.)

* Get lots of help.
(This is not like a science fair project. Get all the help you want and need.)

* Don't make a huge project.
(Make a project that will fit on top of the table - 2 feet by 2 feet square.)

* Don't have too many steps.
(5 steps or actions would be enough.)

* Plan for lots of "tweeking."
(There will have to be many adjustments and changing along the way to get it to work.)

* Get ideas and help from your teachers.
* Look at the list of Final Course Projects from last year for ideas.
* Have lots of fun!
